About this hotel
A villa property at Shinzato in Motobu, in the north of Okinawa’s main island. There are seven separate units, each with its own private pool and a barrel sauna beside it (the saunas were completed across all seven in February 2026). Each unit is 160 square metres, with two bedrooms holding four semi-double beds and a Japanese-style room; with futons added, up to eight people can stay. Kitchen appliances and a full set of cookware, a washer and dryer, two toilets, a bathroom and a shower room are provided. There is no restaurant on site, so meals are ordered in — a breakfast box, a barbecue set and so on. About an hour and 40 minutes by car from Naha Airport, and well placed for the Churaumi Aquarium and the Bise fukugi tree lane.
Who it suits
A stay where you take a whole unit and organise it yourself, cooking included. Each unit stands on its own with its own pool and sauna, so you never cross paths with other guests. In exchange, this is not built around a restaurant or a front desk: meals mean ordering a breakfast box, a barbecue set, an Agu pork hot pot or catering in advance, or bringing your own food and using the kitchen and the barbecue grill. The pool is not heated, so if swimming is the point, the season matters; the sauna works all year. On stays of several nights the room is cleaned once every ten nights, and amenities and linen are not added to or replaced in between. Payment on site is by credit card only — cash is not accepted.

Pool and sauna: the pool is unheated, the sauna runs all year
Each unit has its own pool, 7,500 by 3,000 mm and 1.1 m deep. It is not heated. Beside it stands a barrel sauna, which can be used all year round: units 101 and 102 have one measuring 1,600 wide by 1,760 high, and units 103 to 107 one measuring 1,800 by 1,800, each seating up to four. Installation across all seven units was completed in February 2026.
From the editors
Since it is not heated, summer is the season if swimming is the point. In winter the pool works as the cold side of a sauna round instead.

Dining: no restaurant on site, so order in advance
There is no restaurant on site. Breakfast is a daily box from MOKULELE, a partner shop, at 2,000 yen per person, delivered to the unit between 7:30 and 9:00. For dinner there is a barbecue set (6,600 yen per person, minimum two) or an Agu pork hot pot set (6,600 yen per person) delivered, or catering. The barbecue set must be booked seven days ahead and is paid for on site by card. Guests may also bring their own food and use the gas barbecue grill and the kitchen in each unit; the grill can be used until 21:00.
