About this hotel
A resort on the high ground at Afuso in Onna, opened in June 2005 by The Terrace Hotels. There are 78 rooms in all — 74 in the tower and four forest villas — and every one is at least 52 square metres. The whole property is run as a club floor, with tea, aperitif and nightcap service and a 24-hour butler. Everything other than the guest rooms — the pool, the restaurants and the rest of the public areas — is limited to guests aged 13 and over, and the facilities are not open to anyone who is not staying. The site covers about 9,738 square metres, with an adjoining garden of about 24,961 square metres. Around 75 minutes by car from Naha Airport.
Who it suits
Put together on the assumption that adults have come here to be quiet. The public areas are limited to guests aged 13 and over, so it does not work for a stay with small children, and for the same reason it suits anyone looking for a place where there are none. The rooms divide into those facing the East China Sea (Terrace Suite, Club Luxury, Club Deluxe) and those facing the forest and garden (Premier Garden and the Forest Villas), so if the view is the point, the room type is the decision. Dinner at the Fine Dining restaurant has a dress code: sandals, camouflage patterns and sportswear are turned away. Guests are asked not to have tattoos on show indoors, and to wear a rash guard at the pool and on the beach.

What this place is like
Checked against the hotel’s own site. Anything we could not confirm is left out — that does not mean it is not there.
Rooms: all at least 52 sqm, some facing the sea and some the forest
There are 78 rooms: 74 in the tower and four forest villas. All are suite-grade at 52 square metres or more. The Terrace Suite at the top is a 105-square-metre penthouse, with the East China Sea in view from the living room, the bedroom and the terrace. Club Luxury is a corner room with large windows on two sides, looking out to Mount Onna and the sea. In Club Deluxe, opening the sliding door of the bathroom brings the terrace into view from the bathtub. Premier Garden and the Forest Villas face the greenery instead: forest and garden rather than sea.
From the editors
For the sea, that means Terrace Suite, Club Luxury or Club Deluxe. For the greenery, Premier Garden or a Forest Villa. Not every room is an ocean view.

Club service: the whole hotel is a club floor
The whole hotel is run as a club floor, so tea time, aperitif time and a nightcap are included for guests, along with a 24-hour butler service — which is also where to ask about the nearest hospital or pharmacy. The facilities are for guests only; people who are not staying cannot use them.

Pool and spa: a pool that opens toward the sea, for guests 13 and over
There is an outdoor pool that opens from the forest toward the sea, and a spa. Use of everything except the guest rooms — the pool, the restaurants and the other public areas — is limited to guests aged 13 and over. At the pool and on the beach, guests with tattoos are asked to cover them with a rash guard or similar. The large communal bath at the adjoining Atta Terrace Golf Resort is not available, even to hotel guests.

Dining: vegetables from the hotel farm, and a dress code at dinner
The hotel runs its own farm without pesticides or chemical fertiliser, growing Okinawan island vegetables and herbs that go straight to the kitchen. Indoors there is a fine dining room, a teppanyaki counter, a library lounge bar, a clubhouse restaurant and in-room dining. Dinner at the fine dining room is for guests 13 and over, and asks men for a shirt and trousers that cover the knee, and women for a resort dress or similar. Sandals and slippers, camouflage patterns and sportswear, and in summer yukata and hot pants, are all turned away.

Our stay at The Atta Terrace Club Towers was absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t be happier with the hotel we chose for our vacation. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay as enjoyable as possible. Every request or question we had was handled quickly and with a smile. The level of service we experienced here is honestly something I have rarely seen anywhere else. I have been fortunate enough to stay at many excellent hotels around the world, but I can truly say that this hotel stands out because of how much attention is given to the well-being and comfort of every guest. You can tell that the staff take great pride in their work, and it makes all the difference. One thing we especially appreciated was how personal and genuine the interactions felt. We got to know some of the staff during our stay, and that made our holiday even more memorable. Meeting such warm and welcoming people is one of the best parts of traveling. Thank you to everyone at The Atta Terrace Club Towers for making our stay so special. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Okinawa.
Read the full review on Google MapsA peaceful rest in Owkinawa. I recommend having a car if you intend to travel from the hotel. Sun down champagne evenings are particularly lovely.
Read the full review on Google MapsGreat experience- the Terrace hotels are fantastic and they really took care of us. When we showed up at The Atta Terrace Club Towers, the pool and beach club were unfortunately closed (until April 1st). But we talked with Arakaki who works there and he was able to move us to the sister hotel (Busena Terrace) where the indoor pool and the beach activities were open. He personally drove us over, and we ended up having a wonderful time. We like the Terrace hotels very much, Arakaki is fantastic, and we would certainly entrust them with our stay next time we are here.
