About this hotel
A city hotel occupying the upper floors of the Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower. Every room is high up, so whichever one you take, Tokyo is laid out below. The spa and the dining rooms carry a lot of the weight here and are used by people who are not staying.
Who it suits
It handles both an anniversary booked for the night view and a stay spent walking Nihonbashi and Ginza. Which way the window faces changes the view a great deal, which is why stay reports keep returning to the question of direction.

What this place is like
Checked against the hotel’s own site. Anything we could not confirm is left out — that does not mean it is not there.
Spa: The Spa on the 37th floor
The Spa is on the 37th floor, with four treatment rooms and five suites. Large windows take in the city and the mountains beyond it. It runs 10:00–21:00 Monday to Thursday and 10:00–22:00 Friday to Sunday. The fitness centre is open 06:30–22:00, and around the clock for hotel guests.
From the editors
Because of the heat and water areas, the hotel asks you to arrive an hour before your treatment. The spa is open to people who are not staying.

From the editors
The Mandarin Bar runs 15:00–24:00 Sunday to Thursday and until 01:00 on Friday and Saturday. People who are not staying use it too, so choose your hour if you want it quiet.

A Really Special Stay in Tokyo We stayed at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo during our engagement trip, and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our time in Japan. What I appreciated most was how genuinely kind everyone was. From the bell team to reception and housekeeping, the service was always warm and thoughtful without ever feeling too formal. Everyone made us feel very well looked after throughout the stay. A special thank you to Karen, who made our stay even more meaningful. She was incredibly thoughtful and took great care of us, and we really appreciated everything she did. We left Tokyo with very good memories of the hotel and would definitely love to come back again.

From the moment we arrived, we could genuinely feel the care and warmth of the team. The service felt sincere and thoughtful at every touchpoint, from the bell team and reception to housekeeping. It never felt simply professional — it felt as though everyone truly wanted to make our stay special. Read the full review on Google Maps7 Days at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo — An Exceptional Stay Overall Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) From start to finish, this was one of the finest hotel experiences I’ve had. Room & Service — ★★★★★ (5/5) We requested a room upgrade, and the team was incredibly accommodating — offering multiple options and working with us on pricing as well. The service itself is unmatched; across all my previous travels, I’ve never stayed at a hotel that pays such close attention to detail. They even organize your charging cables for you. Daily check-in messages, warm greetings and farewells, impeccable manners, and genuinely friendly staff — all without ever expecting a tip. Concierge — ★★★★★ (5/5) The concierge service was outstanding, going above and beyond at every turn. Cleanliness — ★★★★★ (5/5) Room cleanliness was beyond excellent throughout our stay. In-Room Dining — ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) In-room dining at most hotels tends to be average at best, but here the food quality was genuinely delicious. Late Check-Out — ★★★★★ (5/5) Since our flight was late, we requested a late check-out, and the hotel gave us more than enough time to relax comfortably until it was time to head to the airport. Special Mention — Michina Miyashita A special thank you to Michina Miyashita, one of the managers, whose warmth, professionalism, and genuine dedication to guest satisfaction made a real difference. Her presence alone is a reason I’ll be choosing this hotel again on my next trip to Tokyo. The hotel is lucky to have her. Highly recommended for anyone seeking true luxury and world-class service.
