About this hotel
A resort in the Nikadori district of Miyakojima, one of Rosewood’s properties in Japan. Miyakojima is linked to Irabu Island by the Irabu Bridge, and the resort faces the East China Sea, with the island’s beaches easy to reach by car. It holds two Michelin Keys in the 2026 selection. Most accommodation is in villas, and the restaurants serve food made with Miyakojima ingredients.
Who it suits
Suits a stay based in a villa, driving out to the sea around Miyakojima and Irabu. The restaurants let you taste the island’s produce without leaving the resort.

Rating: 9/10 ⭐ We had a wonderful stay at Rosewood Miyakojima, a truly beautiful and peaceful resort in one of the most stunning locations we have visited in Japan. The surroundings are breathtaking, with crystal-clear turquoise waters, an absolutely gorgeous beach, and spectacular natural scenery. We were fortunate to enjoy amazing weather throughout our stay, which made the experience even more special. The resort is incredibly quiet and relaxing, offering a wonderful sense of privacy. Bicycles are also available to explore the beautiful surroundings. One of the things that impressed me most was the personal involvement of the hotel’s management. The General Manager was personally present during breakfast, serving guests and genuinely taking the time to ask how they were enjoying their stay. This level of personal attention and care is something I truly appreciate in a luxury hotel. It shows a real commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction. The entire team was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. We felt very well looked after throughout our stay. The dining experience was another highlight. The hotel has three restaurants, two Japanese and one Italian, offering excellent food and a great variety of options. We particularly appreciated how accommodating the team was with our dietary preferences and special food requests. We booked through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) and received a wonderful room upgrade, along with a $300 hotel credit, which added even more value to our stay. The combination of beautiful surroundings, outstanding hospitality, excellent dining, and a peaceful atmosphere made this a truly memorable experience. One area for improvement: The hotel does not offer 24-hour room service. For a luxury resort of this caliber, I believe around-the-clock in-room dining would be a valuable addition, especially for guests who prefer to dine privately or arrive late. Overall, Rosewood Miyakojima is a truly special property, with one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, excellent food, and a team that genuinely cares about its guests. Highly recommended! I would absolutely love to return. My rating: 9/10.
Read the full review on Google MapsThe resort was sooo beautiful! The villas are not huge, but the layout is really good. We had a walk-in closet and a private pool, which I loved. 1. Service was okay, nothing crazy. 2. Breakfast was good and I loved the menu. I used to wake up super early and sometimes had breakfast twice lol, and no one ever said anything. 3. Most of the staff were foreigners, so sometimes it didn’t really feel like you were in Japan. It felt more like a luxury resort somewhere else. 4. The beach was amazing, but the water was pretty cold when we went in early April.
Read the full review on Google MapsExtremely relaxed and comfortable. The room and service were awesome! The whole resort is very beautifully designed which definitely give us a chill holiday vibe. We were a bit unlucky to stay during typhoon so the complimentary water activity was cancelled and the seafood restaurant we wanted to try - Maas, was also closed. Otherwise I believe it would be an even more amazing experience!
