We stayed here for two nights in late March. To say that we had a great stay would be a grand understatement. The ryokan was a magical experience for us and the #1 element of our vacation. Our room was serene and relaxing, with very comfortable beds and the best private onsen. The staff had exceptional service! For example, they recognized that I was left handed on night #1 and the next morning arranged my chopsticks to accommodate this. The food was sensational - the chef made every ingredient the best it could possible be. Our highest recommendation to anyone staying in Nagano.

If you're looking for a wonderful place to rest and relax, this is it. The service and hospitality feel incredible, with every team member making you feel right at home. Breakfasts and dinners are included in your stay, and every meal feels thoughtfully curated and prepared. Complimentary after-dinner drinks are provided in their lounge, with a curated selection of whiskey, plum wine, sake and beer. The onsen (found in their sister accommodation right across), has a wonderfully picturesque outdoor onsen. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic stay at Shoraiso and wish we had more days. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were large and well appointed. The Private Onsen outside was great and great amenities especially the body oil. Food was outstanding. Lovely little town and just magical in the winter snow. We stayed here mainly to go visit the snow monkeys in this area. Highly recommended.
