Overview

About this hotel

A hotel inside Yebisu Garden Place, opened in 1994. It is about seven to ten minutes from the east exit of Ebisu Station by the Ebisu Skywalk moving walkway. Its interiors recall a European mansion, and it makes an easy base for walking Ebisu and Daikanyama. It has several restaurants and a spa.

Who it suits

Suits a stay when you want to explore Ebisu and Daikanyama on foot and come back to a calm hotel. It is linked to Ebisu Station by a covered moving walkway, which helps on rainy days.

This is a lovely property, from the elegant lobby and specialized bars to the well-appointed rooms. We especially loved the rooftop bar with its stunning views, as well as the Whiskey bar on the 1st floor. The sushi style Japanese dining was our least favorite, nice service but mediocre food and felt a bit like dining in a dungeon. Because it’s a very busy hotel, you don't get as much personalized interaction with staff as you might at a smaller property, but everyone was professional. The rooms are exceptionally well-equipped, particularly with the thoughtful amenity set (pajamas, robes, slippers, hygiene items, JBL speakers, and more). While I would have preferred a dedicated desk, I made do with the table and couch. Housekeeping was prompt every morning and wonderful to interact with. The fitness room was also good and had all the basics needed for a solid workout. A few areas that could be improved: Morning Coffee / Quick Bites: A small coffee shop or grab-and-go option open early in the morning would be a great addition, as the main restaurant is currently the only choice. Lobby Seating: The lobby needs significantly more seating. Many guests gather there, yet there are very few places to sit outside of the restaurants. In-Room Tech: Upgrading to Smart TVs would be a welcome addition for international clientele. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and residential with a few local restaurants and shops, while offering convenient access to trains and taxis.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Westin Tokyo. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt comfortable and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a busy day exploring Tokyo. I also really liked the location—it’s in a great area and convenient for getting around and exploring the city. The buffet breakfast was definitely one of my favourite parts of the stay. There was a great variety of fresh food, with plenty of Japanese and international choices, so there was something for everyone. The quality was good and it was a great way to start the day. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at The Westin Tokyo and would happily stay here again on my next visit to Tokyo.

Australian guest who has stay in many premium 5-star accommodations, can confirm the 'Westin Tokyo' did not feel like a premium 5-star hotel. Customer Service is terrible poor. Bhumika ( reservation asstiance ) over-charge for our stay when i had advised her the amount that has been process has already be done at check in. No urgency on help to rectify the problem or provide immediate refund by their Reservation Manager. Mansouri. Hotel lacks 'English' speaking staff. We had to use google translate to communicate with hotel staff for basic needs. For a 5-star international hotel 'The Westin' should have staff that understand and speak English. Air-conditioning in the premium rooms need updating along with the gym amenities and more restaurants options. Rooms are outdated along with the WHOLE hotel. Needs a good reno. Key pros are a) location and b) buffet breakfast. Hotel provides very Easy access to Ebisu Station (10min walk) and the buffet breakfast which provides a wide range of international spreads. For the premium price. The Westin Tokyo feel more like an 3.5 hotel rather an 5-start premium hotel. Management team at 'The Westin Tokyo' needs to have hard look at they customer service team long with basic amenities that meet the 5-star quality. Not Recommended.
