This beautiful hotel pearched on a clift in Shima with impeccable service is a must stay in Shima. Super friendly staffs who are knowledgeable and are prepared to answer your every question makes our stay at this venue a very memorable one. Restaurant La Mer and the Japanese restaurant never failed to amaze us, even though we only had our breakfast there. The top floor viewing deck is a must to see one of the best sunset in the world. The breathtaking views from your suite is simply worth the price.

Old style luxury. The room was huge, with a fairly good view. The staff were friendly but not super knowledgeable. Breakfast was included and was of fine dining quality at La Mer. Eggs benedict and eggs gratin was the highlight. The slippers were luxurious and fluffy. The pool actually isn’t a pool, it just looks like one but you can’t swim in it. Oh also the gym sucks, has about 1 bike and 2 treadmills, and one vertical chest press machine.

This hotel offers a truly unparalleled view, one that alone makes the stay deeply memorable and easy to recommend. The restaurant is of an exceptionally high standard as well, with abalone and Ise lobster presented in a choice of styles ranging from traditional preparations that reflect the property’s long culinary heritage to more contemporary interpretations. In that sense, the dining experience is all the more rewarding for guests who arrive with an interest in the cuisine and an appreciation for the subtle distinctions between these approaches. A few practical considerations may be helpful for future guests. The hotel does not provide laundry service, which is worth noting for those planning an extended stay. In addition, the rooms at The Classic are not particularly designed with remote work in mind, and the desk may not be ideal for guests who expect to work comfortably from their room.
