The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

  One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in!! From the beautiful scenery, to the luxurious rooms & impeccable service.. it was the experience of a lifetime. When we first arrived by taxi, we were immediately greeted by a group of staff out front who took our bags, showed us where to go and started the smooth check in process. I felt like a very important person to be greeted by an entourage haha! They ended up upgrading our room so we got to enjoy a breathtaking room of the Yasaka Pagoda. The room itself was luxurious. The warm wood panels, floor to ceiling windows, tastefully designed bathroom & little design touches throughout the room were amazing. The full bar was complimentary so we got to enjoy a great bottle of rose. Breakfast at the library bar was a highlight. The library was beautifully designed with elegance but also had a cozy, luxe dark academia feel. The food was amazing- I had the japanese breakfast bento. The buffet was laid out in such a aesthetically pleasing manner as well. If was a feast for the eyes. The indoor bar was amazing. In my opinion better than the popular K36 outside bar. It was cozy but luxe, playing jazz music and had a bustling atmosphere. The drinks were amazing. It was true craftsmanship. I would stay here again just to enjoy the bar! The guest lounge was one of our favorite places to hangout. It was comfortable and luxurious with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the million dollar view of the pagoda. We did a tea ceremony which was amazing!! Also thank you to Rena at the guest lounge who offered to take pictures of my mom and I in our kimonos! She was so friendly and really took the time to take amazing pictures of us. Service was impeccable. The best service I’ve received from a hotel. Every single person made us feel welcomed and made us feel at home. The staff walked around with smiles & really made the whole place feel so homey. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!! Thank you to all the kind staff who made our stay so amazing. Best hotel experience ever. Thank you Hotel Seiryu for an experience of a life time!

  We had the most perfect stay at the Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu. The hotel is beautiful and is in a wonderful location in Gion. Breakfast in the library was an experience as well as having drinks at K36 bar. We also enjoyed the guest lounge with its amazing view of the Yasaka pagoda, but what truly sets the Seiryu apart is the hospitality they provide. Every one was so nice and it being a smaller hotel meant that the staff remembered us, greeted us through out the day and anticipated our needs whether it was a simple matter such as handing us our favorite red umbrella whenever we went out, calling cabs for us, offering to take photos or arranging for luggage transfer service to our next hotel, all these were done in a friendly and professional manner that greatly enhanced our guest experience. I would rate The Hotel Seiryu as one of the leading hotels in the world and would highly recommend it to anyone going to Kyoto. This is truly a memorable and remarkable hotel.

  We loved our stay at the Hotel Seiryu in Kyoto. The room was beautiful and the patio had a lovely view of the Yasaka pagoda. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The concierge helped arrange some great dinners at nearby restaurants. We enjoyed the tea ceremony and music performance in the guest lounge as did our young children. And the location can’t be beat! We’ll definitely stay again the next time we visit Kyoto!
