It holds two Michelin Keys in the 2026 selection, keeps its room count small and displays contemporary art inside.

It's been a few weeks since we left and I'm still left with such a lasting impression. The service here is above and beyond and impeccably high touch. I felt truly welcomed and cared for, immediate vacation mode. The restaurant was amazing as well. Experiences booked were top notch. I can't say enough good things ..I second a previous review about the value of this place is impressive. Lovely staff and hotel.
Read the full review on Google MapsThe customer service is the best of any hotel in world I have been to. We recieved a wonderful complimentary tour of the area. The hotel is centrally located that makes walking everywhere easy. The bathtub is amazing. We recieved complimentary monagrammed pajamas when were leaving. The hotel provided daily snacks and as many matcha lattes as you could drink. The beds were extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Read the full review on Google MapsA truly memorable stay at The Shinmonzen. Could not fault anything, from the lovely quiet location, excellently appointed rooms, fantastic cuisine to the small daily details that were much appreciated. What really sets The Shinmonzen apart from most accommodations at this at this price point are the wonderful staff that make your entire experience that much better than it already is. Of the many places we've stayed at in Japan over the 25+ years we've been visiting, The Shinmonzen is top of our list to return to. Thank you so much for hosting us.
