Breakfast: Japanese set at KIZAHASHI or half-buffet at SCALAE

Breakfast runs 7:00–10:00 (last orders) in one of two restaurants. KIZAHASHI, the Japanese restaurant, serves a set tray: dashi broth and yuba from Miyama to start, then rolled omelette made with free-range eggs from Uji, saikyo-miso grilled fish and more. SCALAE, the Italian restaurant, serves a half-buffet: you choose one main dish and help yourself to the rest. Some mains are vegetarian. Room rates that include breakfast may fix which breakfast you get.

Getting there: about two minutes’ walk from Kyoto Station

About two minutes’ walk east from the Central (Karasuma) exit of JR Kyoto Station, on the Kyoto Tower side. From the Karasuma subway line, use exit 5 of the underground passage. From Kansai International Airport it is about 75 minutes to Kyoto Station on the JR Haruka limited express, or about 85 by airport limousine bus. The basement car park has about 50 spaces and cannot be booked; vehicles over 2.2 m high will not fit.

The customer service was excellent, everyone was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. We also loved the robot room service; it was such a fun and convenient way to order and receive everything we needed. We used the spa during our stay, and it was absolutely amazing. The Japanese bath was incredibly relaxing, and the massage was wonderful as well. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully done. We truly enjoyed every part of our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel is in a convenient location, with the subways very close by. The staff are amazing and extremely attentive and the entire hotel is beautifully designed and upgraded with a lot of technology. The rooms are extremely spacious, well designed and overall very clean. The only call out I had is the decorative pillows that were placed on the bed smelled and were with the clean sheets and sleeping pillows. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Kyoto and will book this again for future trips!

Our stay at **THE THOUSAND KYOTO** was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we experienced true Japanese *omotenashi*. The architecture is elegant, and the artistic logo at the entrance creates a beautiful first impression. Every staff member was warm, courteous, and highly professional, clearly taking pride in their work. Our room was spacious, comfortable, spotless, and equipped with modern technology (manage all by tablet's app). The spa was outstanding, especially the Japanese-style massage by **Mrs. Oshiro**, whose skill and kindness made the experience unforgettable. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious Japanese and Western dishes, served by a friendly and attentive team. The location, just steps from Kyoto Station, is perfect for exploring the city. THE THOUSAND KYOTO combines luxury, comfort, and genuine hospitality. A truly memorable stay that we highly recommend.
