Overview

About this hotel

Next to the Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park, with a hot spring bath in every room and the greenery of the Daiya river in front of it. Toshogu is a few minutes away by car.

Who it suits

Easy to combine sightseeing at Toshogu and Lake Chuzenji with time spent resting in the building. It sits high enough to stay cool in summer; in the autumn colours the roads around it get busy.

We were extremely happy with our stay. The entire property was beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. Every staff member was incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful. Both dinner and breakfast were even better than we expected. We loved everything about this place and would definitely recommend it! 🧚‍♀️✨

① Hotel Features A tranquil hotel nestled in the forests of Nikko. The calm interior design of the rooms cleverly incorporates a tatami mat area by the window, creating a high-quality Japanese-style space. Meals are served in semi-private rooms where guests sit side-by-side facing the window, with service provided from behind a counter. The staff in the dining room provide excellent service, explaining the dishes and engaging in conversation while moving behind guests to check their progress and serve courses at just the right moment. ② Food Review ◎ Bonbonnière Exquisite appetizers served inside traditional Japanese paper balls. The combination of whelk and watercress dressed with liver creates a synergistic bitterness that is simply exquisite. ◎ Soup The dish features the fluffy, savory texture of cooked red seabream and the smoothness of sesame tofu. The rich bonito broth that envelops it is delicious. ◎ Grilled Scallops with Épine Sauce The scallops, sautéed to a rare finish, and the sauce are delicious. ◎ Salt-Grilled Sweetfish A complimentary dish not listed on the menu. This small salt-grilled sweetfish can be eaten from head to tail. The fresh bitterness of the innards is particularly delicious. ◎ Abalone and Asparagus Rice Koshihikari rice from Tochigi Prefecture is cooked in a clay pot and served with abalone and asparagus. The rich flavor of the rice holds its own against the umami of the abalone—it’s simply irresistible. !

Loved our stay here. The staff were excellent and attentive, and Fufu Nikko was perfect for a "treat yo' self" get away from the city. The private room onsen was amazing! The kaiseki dinner was delicious and our server, Scott, made the dinner even more enjoyable. Our Japanese breakfast was the best breakfast we had during our whole trip in Japan. The language skills of the all the staff is impressive and everyone was so welcoming. A definite must stay anytime we can make it!
