Overview

About this hotel

A resort hotel at Toyako Onsen, about 15 minutes by car from JR Toya Station. Every room faces the lake, and there is an open-air bath on the top floor. Lake Toya is a caldera lake formed by volcanic activity and is part of the Toya Caldera and Usu Volcano Global Geopark. In summer, fireworks are launched over the lake every night and can be seen from the lake-facing rooms. There are several dining rooms, and the lakeside promenade is within walking distance.

Who it suits

Suits a stay looking out over Lake Toya from your room and using the open-air bath on the top floor. In summer you can watch the nightly fireworks over the lake from your room, and the lakeside promenade is a pleasant walk.

What I miss the most about this place is actually the buffet. ❤️ It’s really the complete package — beautiful lake scenery, a relaxing onsen, spacious rooms, and even a romantic fireworks show. 🎆 But the buffet was definitely one of the highlights for me. The chefs did such a wonderful job showcasing the best ingredients that Hokkaido has to offer. You could really taste the freshness and quality of the local produce in every dish. Honestly, this is by far the best hotel my family and I have ever stayed at. We’ve stayed at quite a number of expensive ryokans before, but somehow, the overall experience here just felt different. The food, the scenery, the onsen, the atmosphere, and all the little details came together so nicely. It’s been a while since we left, but I still find myself thinking about the buffet. 😆❤️ Definitely a place I would love to revisit! - pls do keep the quality!- I only took 2 pictures as I was busy eating 😋

Amazing experience, worth the splurge for the club room! From the moment we got to the property, someone got our luggage and ushered us to the club lounge. And, served us drinks and cookies. A staff member checked us in while we relaxed at the lounge. The view from our club room was impressive. The room very spacious. The buffet dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Great variety and high quality. The dining room also boasts a spectacular view of the lake. Everyone we came into contact with was warm and friendly. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.

This hotel stay was absolutely amazing! The location was perfect for exploring the lake and surrounding town on foot, with so much beauty to discover in the area. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. When we checked in, we were welcomed into the lounge, offered a welcome drink, and given an overview of our two-night stay. It was such a lovely and relaxing way to begin our visit. Our room included a private onsen, which was absolutely wonderful and made the stay feel extra special. We also enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the resort. The selection was huge, and the staggered dinner times helped keep the buffet from feeling too crowded, making the dining experience much more enjoyable. Check-out was quick and convenient with self-service kiosks located in the lobby. The entire process was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. It was truly relaxing from start to finish, and we would absolutely love to return!
